The Canadian Importers Forum is a platform for Canadian companies to discuss issues on import from China and is held every two years. Canadian companies have the opportunity to meet and exchange views with Chinese manufacturers and trading houses, while Chinese companies gain a better understanding of Canadian buyers. The Forum includes an audience of hundreds of executives and business professionals representing major manufacturers and trading houses coming from across Mainland China. At the Forum, each of the invited Canadian importers has a chance to make a 20-30 minute presentation to the Chinese audience, followed each by a question/answer period. Presentation topics of the Canadian importers may be relevant to their interest and experience; including their buying policy, purchasing process, problems encountered in importing from China, the type of products imported from China, and product requirements.
The First Canadian Importers Forum was held on the afternoon of September 28, 2002 at Bond International College, 720 Midland Avenue, Toronto.
Canadian Importers Forum 2004 was held on November 27, 2004,in the Residence College Hotel at 90 Gerrard St., W. Toronto.
